Funding information is listed on this page for both the Education Programme and Training Programme. Funding is available from various sources;
Years 1 to 3; the Education Programme
Funding for the Education Programme is available from
• DfES for Welsh learners
• EFA and local authorities for learners from England
Once an offer of placement has been made by Coleg Elidyr and accepted by the Learner and/or Parents, Coleg Elidyr begin the process of funding.
Funding applications are taken from Coleg Elidyr and processed by Careers/Connexions in England and Careers Wales in Wales.
Applications are sent to DfES or the English Local Authority Multi-disciplinary Panel by the 31st January for learners to begin the following September.
Families are advised of the funding decision between March and August.
Late applications can be processed by both DfES and English Local Authorities with alternative start dates offered.
Years 4+; the Trainee Programme
Individuals who have already received their Education funding, either through Coleg Elidyr’s Education programme or elsewhere, are accepted onto our Trainee Programme.
Funding is through Social Services and/or Health Services.
The process of funding is comparable to the process completed for Learners. Once an offer of placement has been made by Coleg Elidyr and accepted by the Trainee and/or Parents, Coleg Elidyr begin the process of funding.
The applications are sent to the Social Services by Coleg Elidyr, who complete and process applications and advise families of their decisions.
Applications from families who wish to privately fund places are welcome. Prospective learners/trainees are taken through the same assessment process as those who are funded by government bodies.
